Shirley J. Weaver Lyons, age 75, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at her home in Cambridge Springs, on Thursday, February 23, 2017. A daughter of the late William Edward Lyons and Mildred (Amelia) Mitchell Lyons, Shirley was born in Canonsburg, PA on February 18, 1942. She was a long time member of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed volunteering at Beverly Health Care and loved doing all kinds of different crafts. She was a big believer in family and always liked her family around her. She loved having big dinners when she was able, especially during holidays with her family.
Shirley was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by four brothers – John Lyons, Sonny Lyons, George Lyons, and Jim Lyons, Jr.; by a daughter – Barbara McLean and a grandson – Andrew Weaver.
She is survived by a son – William (Bill) Weaver with whom she made her home; a daughter – Tina (Jake) Davis; a sister – Judy Lilly; two sister-in-laws: Norrie Lyons and Sylvia Dronko; a son-in-law: Robert (Bob) McLean; three grandchildren – John (Tammy) Weaver, Marcia (Randy) Lenoir, and Emmi Weaver along with many great grand -children and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin there at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of the Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Cambridge Springs Cemetery.
