Margaret Jenny Robbins, age 97, former longtime resident of 119 Canfield Street, Cambridge Springs, PA, passed away at Rolling Fields Elder Care, Conneautville on Monday, February 6, 2017 after a period of declining health. Born on February 1, 1920 in Cambridge Township, Crawford County, Margaret was a daughter of the late Claude Robbins, Margaret002Montgomery Allen and Macie Mae Ryan Allen. She married Alton “Bib” A. Robbins on June 22, 1938 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2003.

In her younger years, Margaret, with her husband, Bib, operated the Cambridge Springs Bakery for many years and then she, likewise, with her husband operated the family business – AA Robbins, Inc. Block Plant in Cambridge Springs until their retirement. Margaret was a devoted, selfless mother and caregiver who faithfully cared for her son, Lanny, for over 44 years.

Margaret was affiliated with the Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church, the Cambridge Springs Gam-Sac-Mah women’s club, and Mitchell Cemetery Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing dominoes, reading, sewing many dance costumes over the years, and could be found holding scenery for numerous dance recitals. She was faithful in attending High School basketball games and enjoying her children’s activities.

Surviving Margaret are two daughters – Betsy Robbins Mateja (Gary) of Cambridge Springs and Kathleen Robbins Cykoski (David) of Georgetown, SC; and a son – Dennis Robbins (Jill Finney) of Hendersonville, NC. She is also survived by  her grandchildren – Heather Cykoski McMahon (Larry) ; Christopher Cykoski (Susan); Erin Cykoski Jacobs (Weston); Paul Robbins; Devin Robbins (Darah); Spencer Robbins; Cory Ross (Jessica); her great grandchildren – Dillon McMahon; Mary Grace McMahon; Bailey McMahon; Anna Cykoski; Caroline Cykoski; Emma Jacobs; Charlotte Jacobs; Matthew Ross; Kylee Ann Ross; Davis Robbins; Danica Robbins; and Harmony Rose Mateja. Also surviving is a special first cousin – Sandy Conroe Reed. Margaret was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and her husband, Bib, by her son – Lanny Robbins who died March 3, 1999 and her brother – Ivan Allen who died in 1954.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday, February 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 and are invited to attend funeral services there on Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Rod Beardsley, pastor of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Cambridge Springs Public Library or the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
