Sue Ann Hecker, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at Edinboro Manor Nursing Home in Edinboro, PA. She was born January 26, 1943, in Coronado, CA to the late Paul S. Ravey and Mary M. Ravey-Lietz.

She graduated from Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA in 1961, then attended Stanford University in Stanford, CA. On May 25, 1968, she married Lawrence E. Hecker, who survives.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law Mark B. Brown.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Mema). She is survived by her husband or 48 years, Larry E. Hecker; six children– SandieĀ  Keister of Bakersfield, CA; Joseph Martin and his wife Julie, of Kenton, OH; Jill Kean and her husband Don of Cranesville PA; Theodore Hecker and his wife Cindy of Edinboro, PA; Thomas Hecker of Waterford, PA and Mary Katherine Brown of Venango, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren– Chris Eatherton, Danielle Hill, Stephanie Bailey, Glenn (Kaley) Ferry, Keith (Brandi) Ferry, Christina (Dan) Cieloszyk, TJ (Kayla) Hecker, Adrianne and Andrea Hecker, Devin McDaniel and Hope Brown; her cherished great-grandchildren; her sister, Paula (Greg) Kocher; many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Sue enjoyed her many years of employment at Edinboro Manor Nursing Home. She was an avid reader, and adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Friday, March 17th, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be there at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017. Committal service and burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery (West).
