Ricky Allen Walmer, 55, of Cambridge Springs and formerly of McKean, PA passed away Monday April 24th at Meadville Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.? He was born May 29, 1961 in Erie, PA to Loretta J. and the late Charles C. Walmer (2007).

Walmer, Ricky????? Ricky was 1979 graduate of General McLane high school and a proud member of the Union City Legion Post #237 Honor Guard Burial Detail. He was also a past member of the Cambridge Springs Legion Post #381 Honor Guard Burial Detail, Edinboro-McKean VFW Post #740,?St. Francis Ushers Club, Clarion County Masonic Lodge No. 277 where he was? a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Clarion County Zem Zem Trykes Unit.? He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, racing, bowling and playing pool on the league at the Villa in Cambridge Springs. Ricky was a truck driver for various over-the-road and construction companies during his career, but was best known for his great sense of humor, ability to make life-long friends and his notorious cooking skills.

In addition to his father, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother – Lavern (Jake) Walmer in 2014.? Survivors include his mother – Loretta Walmer of Cambridge Springs; sisters – Shirley Wozniak (Felix) of Edinboro; Tracy Van Hoyweghen (Joseph) of Waterford; and sister-in-law Penny Walmer of Brackenridge, PA.? He is further survived by nieces and nephews – Matt (Kelly) Walmer, Jason (Ashley) Walmer, Adam (Jordan) Walmer, Niki (Brett) Stoll, Carly Turner, Lauren Michalchik, Jamie Walmer, Lauren and Ashley Van Hoyweghen, Buddy and Tony Wozniak as well as eight great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, Meadville Medical Center and Crawford County Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Ricky?s illness.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Family in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, April 26th from 6 – 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery with full military honors rendered.
