Gary “Red” Victor Cole, age 82, of Edinboro, passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 1st, 2017. He was born on March 22, 1935, son of the late Duane and Evelyn Bull Cole. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Ralph Cole, his son Kenneth R. Cole, and a granddaughter Rochelle Brooks.
Gary was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty (Vogel) Cole, his sister Karen (Fred) Brown, and his children: Gary K. (Sherry) Cole, Cathy (Randy) Schirra, Laurie (Thomas) Cracolici, Raymond (Kim) Cole, and Cindy (Charles) Vaughn; seven grandchildren: Keith Brooks, Brittany Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Adam Cole, Rachel (Cracolici) Valentine, Emily Cracolici and Jace Cracolici; and six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gary “Red” worked at Bernard Block and Brick for many years. He will be remembered always for his strength, courage, words of wisdom and sense of humor. He loved wood-working and the outdoors.
Gary was also a member of the Cambridge Springs congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a very devoted student of the Bible his whole life. He was known and respected as a mature spiritual man. His foremost concern was filling his family’s spiritual needs, teaching his children and others about his God Jehovah. One Bible teaching that he held dear to his heart was the promise of a resurrection to a paradise earth.
