Roger F. Bacon died of congestive heart failure on September 8th at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Washington D.C. on May 3, 1960.
Bacon, Roger001

Roger grew up attending the 1st Presbyterian Church in Waterford. He worked at Elgin Electronics for many years and was a bartender at many local clubs. He was a football fan and his team was the Steelers. His true passion was cars, going to car shows and reading for hours about cars in a magazine called “Old Cars” that Merle Wilmire gave him.

Roger was a happy-go-lucky guy with a great sense of humor, always laughing and smiling. He was the life of the party and will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Bacon Jr., his sister, Joyce Bacon Plonski, and a “cool cuz”, Brett Key.

Survivors include his mom, Betty Bacon Carpenter, his brother, Ralph (Trey) Bacon III (and Meeghan), and his sister, DeEtte Hering (and Wayne Estes). Roger loved his nephews, Connor and Garrett Bacon, Stephen and Tyler Hering, and one little great-nephew, Carson.

Please join Roger’s family for a memorial service on Saturday, Sept. 16th at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Walnut and 3rd Streets in Waterford. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 12:00 noon.

Donations may be made to the Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
