Edna Mae Lesik, who many of us called our angel, has gone to her heavenly home on October 13, 2017. Born to Charles and Mary Stuard Deaner on February 1, 1928 in Erie, PA, she was the sister of Stuard, Charles, George and Harriet.
Lesik, Edna

After graduating from Academy High School in 1946, she met Joe Lesik at a dance. Their lifelong marriage began August 27, 1949 when they moved into the house he built for her in Mill Village, PA. In that home they gave life to six children.

God first, husband second, family third, and then everything and everyone else- she lived that every day. She was an active member of the Mill Village United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. She taught us the Truth and Light of God as an everyday part of life, not just a Sunday ritual.

So, as she passes to her life everlasting in the love and light of God, we remember: Mom and Dad dancing to the Tennessee Waltz, Grandma teaching granddaughters her secrets to the perfect apple pie, the after meal tea time, hand-made clothes, and the values she gave us. She lived to see five children get married, survived the loss of her son Randy at 21 days old, the loss of grandson Andy Besonson at 25, and the loss of her parents, her brothers and sister. Still she found laughter and joy in the majority of her days. Though the last few years saw her health fail, her spirit never grew dim. She was always gracious.

Those of us who survive her passing: Joe, her loving husband of 68 years; children: Becky (Rick), Robin (John), Charmaine, Tina (Ron), Joe (Michele); grandchildren: Chad (Stephanie), Kyle, Alison (James), Lyndsey, Tara, Vinny, Ed (Katrina), Adam (Robin), Brittany (Justin), Brianna, Brooks, and Ryan; and great-grandchildren: Kacie Mae, Harper Mae, Jameson, Addison, Mason, Libby, Nolan, Corra, Kaitlyn and Kristina; and others we call family who lived every day in the bounty of her love.

The family would like to thank the aides, nurses and staff of Forestview Health Care Center for their respect and compassionate care of Mom, Miss Edna.

Visiting hours will be held at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Miller Station United Methodist Church on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Bryon Switala. Burial will follow at LeBoeuf Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Mill Village Elementary Library, the Waterford Elementary Library, or the Waterford Public Library.
