Robert Nixon Potts, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2017, at his residence, 219 N. Main Street, Cambridge Springs, PA.? Bob was born in Dicksonburg, PA on November 10, 1938, a son of the late Anthony and Stella Potts. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School with the class of 1956. He served in the United States Potts, Robert006 (3)Army for seven years from 1956 until 1963 and spent five years of his Army career serving in Germany.? After he was discharged from the Army, he began working for Brinks Contracting in Cambridge Springs and eventually after many years of service retired from the Riverside Inn as maintenance supervisor in 2008.? Bob enjoyed golfing, playing pool in local pool leagues, and fishing.

Bob was preceded in death by his grandson – James Anderson; his brothers – William and Raymond Potts; and his sister – Mary Jane Leonhart.

He is survived by his wife – Patricia J. Potts of Erie whom he married on April 2, 1977; his daughters – Susan Potts of Erie and Toni Lee Potts Copeland and her husband, ?Niles of Albion; his son – Robert Potts II and his wife, Tammy of Dundee, OH; his son – Mark Potts and his companion, Kim of Meadville; his son – Shawn Potts of Erie; his daughter – Joyce Knapp and her husband, Joseph of Clinton, CT;? his daughter – Deborah Szpara and her husband, Casmir of Erie; his daughter – Patina Warinner and her husband, John of New Albany, OH; eleven grandchildren – Niles Copeland III, Autumn Breeze Copeland, Stephanie Potts, Alexis Potts, Rosemary Knapp, Joseph Knapp, Carynn Theuret, Shana Theuret, Sydney Warinner and Jake Warinner; five great-grandchildren ; four sisters – Virginia Cottrell of Franklin, Patricia Humes and her husband, Sonny of Cambridge Springs, Sandy Messenger of Cambridge Springs, and Kathy Moreau of Cambridge Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Sunday, January 7, 2017 from 1 until 3 p.m. and are invited to a memorial service there at 3 p.m.
