Jim and I learned all about art from Carol at the WVIZ auction. We learned of her passing at Jim’s memorial service on Saturday, April 7th. He passed away in January. We spent many years volunteering at the auction, and Carol was a large part of it. She will be missed.

Brett and Katrine,
I am so sorry to hear of your Mom?s passing. She was a wonderful person. I loved going to the PBS auction with Mannheim, it was one of my favorite ?gigs?.
My Mom, Doris Sturm, also sends her condolences. She and Caroline did a lot of things together through Mentor Methodist Church.
Hope you guys and your families are well. It?s not easy losing a parent.
Stay strong!
Carol was undoubtedly the best friend I ever had. We worked together, did Auction together and hung out together for many years. She was always gracious, pleasant and loving and was always a teacher. I don’t think anything made her happier than to share her knowledge with anyone.
I think of our Wednesday evenings at the Cleveland Museum of Art often and am grateful for the time we could have together.
I was ever so fond of your mother. Watching her every year with the WVIZ-TV auction. So friendly on screen, so much information she so willingly shared with us all in TVland. When I was called to help care for Mom at her home I was honored. She was as delightful in person as she was on TV. It was sad when she had to leave her home but for her best. When ever I’m driving up and around the neighborhood I start thinking about her, her home and all the beautiful things she loved inside and out. Though she’s gone home now she will forever be in my heart & memory. God bless you all.
Carol was a classmate of my brother Lowell. He and I both dated her. Carol’s mother was strikingly beautiful. Carol was not. But she was special. Lowell and I agreed that one of us should marry her. It didn’t happen. Our dating would have bored most folks. We did not much of anything but enjoy each others company. One date we hunted for an abandoned coal mine. I have a high IQ which she matched. She would often finish my sentences. We corresponded off and on. I had an Austin-Healey, red and black. She had her Corvette. She sent me an LP “Sportscars in Stereo.” I may listen to it tonight. I mentioned that Lowell and meant to marry Carol. We didn’t, but I did. Reading of her life I realized that the girl I married was also tall, very intelligent, had great values, loved to travel, and was gentle and loving. God bless you in your loss. James H Salmon, M.D.
My family has many pleasant memories of Carol from the WVIZ auctions ,to the school functions with the kids. She certainly was a special lady.
I had the pleasure and honor to work with Carol at Channel 25. I was a young director when she was a young on-camera talent. Carol was always warm, friendly, and caring. I have many fond memories of directing her during years of TV 25 Auctions. Her life was filled with love. Thank you, Carol.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time of loss. I worked with Carol for years at the WVIZ Auction, she took a special interest in my youngest son and his difficulties, helping our family with home schooling options before it was a popular thing to do. With her help my son, was able to get a GED by the time he was sixteen and went on to be a LPN and now a veterinary assistant. Carol will be missed by my family and remember for ever as the kindest, most loving person we knew. Again our deepest sympathy at this time of loss.
Carol was my Aunt?s best friend and became a family member. Her obituary even includes ?The Eliasons? as her surviving extended family ?? She absolutely was a wonderful part of the family!
Thank you Carol for exposing me to art from a very young age! Carol took me to art museums, discussed and made art with me, gave me books about art & art history and is a huge reason why I am an Art Teacher today! What inspiring things you?ve done in your life.
I?m sure you and Aunt Shirley have some catching up to do!
You will be missed.
