Marvin William Dies Jr., age 66, of 23033 Gravel Run Road, Woodcock, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 14, 2018. Marvin, the son of the late Marvin William Dies, Sr. and Betty Wise Acker, was born in Las Cruces, NM on February 14, 1952. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1970, and served in the United States Army from 1972-1978. Marvin worked as a truck driver for eight years and counseled at Bethesda Children?s Home for several years. After fifteen years of employment with Penn Dot, he retired as a supervisor. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his fellow Vietnam veterans and spending time with his grandson, Collin.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Dies, who died on September 5, 1992, and his wife, Roseanne Dies, who passed away on July 12, 2016.
Survivors include his son, Steven E. Dies and his wife, Valerie of Cambridge Springs; his son, Rodney L. Dies and his wife, Erica of Cambridge Springs; his son Bradley W. Dies, and his wife, Amanda of Sanford, FL; granddaughter, Lexie Leehan;? grandson, Jakob Dies;? granddaughter, Karlee Dies; and granddaughter, Kylee Dies; and grandson, Collin McCandless.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Friday, March 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a funeral service there on Saturday, March 17 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Rod Beardsley of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs officiating. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
