Fenton Luther “Tuffy” Shaffer, Jr., age 75, of Venango PA passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Tuffy was born on May 30, 1942, in Cambridge Springs, PA, the son of the late Fenton L. Shaffer, Sr. and Lila Ellis Shaffer. He married the former Nancy Lee Cunningham and she survives.

Shaffer, Fenton????? Following his graduation from Cambridge Springs High School in 1960, Tuffy joined the? National Guard, serving until 1963. He then located to California, working for Ford Motor Company as a manager until 1975. Returning to Cambridge Springs, he became owner and operator of the S & W Motor Company which he continued until January of this year. Tuffy was an avid hunter and fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His brother-in-law, James Virtue, proceeded him in death.

In addition to his wife, Nancy Lee Cunningham Shaffer, Tuffy is survived by son, Robert L. Shaffer and his wife, Janet of Gaffney, SC; daughter, Rae’ann Murawski and her husband, Daniel of Cambridge Springs; and son, Eric L. Shaffer and his wife, Candace of Cooperstown, PA;? Grandchildren who survive include granddaughters – Halie Shaffer and Neeley Shaffer; granddaughter Taylor Deptula, grandson Zackary Shaffer and his fianc? Nicolette McClimans,? granddaughter Jadazara Murawski and grandson Jacek Murawski. Also surviving are ?grandson Bobby Simkins, granddaughters, Makayla Simkins and Jubilee-Lila Shaffer, and grandson Hayden Harper. In addition, Tuffy is survived by a sister, Lois Virtue of Martha’s Vineyard, MA.

Friends may visit at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, April 4th from 6 until 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Gravel Run Cemetery on Thursday, April 5th.
