David Lynn Fischer, 59, of Meadville passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, April 30, 2018, after a very brief illness. David was a wonderful dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed. He was born on March 3, 1959, the son of the late Delmer and Orrie Manross Fischer.
David was predeceased by his three brothers: Lewis, Erich, and Delmer.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Fischer; his brother, Orvie Fischer and wife, Sue Hayes Fischer of Marietta, OH; three sisters: Karin Fleeger of Girard, PA; Norma Szymanski of Smithers, WV; and Della Fischer of Shipshewanna, IN; and by his grandson, Lucas Fischer. He is also survived by nephews: Will, Ben, Derek, Brian, and Frank; nieces: Erica, Megan, Laurie, Natalie, Angie, and Letha; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
David was born in Meadville City Hospital and lived much of his early life in Cambridge Springs. He was an amazingly gentle, humorous, and compassionate soul.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with Reverend Rod Beardsley of the Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church officiating.
