Scott Calvin Caldwell, age 63, of Murphy, NC and Cambridge Springs, PA passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the home of his daughter in North Carolina following a brief illness. He was raised in Cambridge Springs, born on May 25, 1955, one of eight children of the late Harold and Wanda Pawlowski Caldwell.

caldwell-scott?? Scott graduated from Cambridge Springs High School and Edinboro University and practiced as a child psychologist. He worked at Bethesda Children?s Home of Meadville, PA, and after moving to North Carolina in the 1980s, Scott worked for more than 20 years with Smoky Mountain Mental Health. He was well-liked and made a significant difference in the lives of many children and their families.

Scott enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He always put others first and dedicated his life to those around him. Scott was a selfless, kind, and loving man.

In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Maricle. Survivors in the family include his daughter, Sarah Caldwell Lackey, and his son, Zach Caldwell and wife, Raven, all of Hayesville, NC; two grandchildren, Logan Caldwell and Emillia Lackey; his former wife, Pat Caldwell, also of Hayesville, NC; his seven siblings– Wanda Holmes and husband Pat of Cambridge Springs, Eileen Maricle of Cambridge Springs, Harold ?Arnie? Caldwell and wife Cindy of Troy, PA, Craig Caldwell and wife Barb of Waterford, Chris Caldwell and wife Mary Ellen of Cambridge Springs, Cliff Caldwell and wife Janine of Furlong, PA, and Kelley Van Matre and husband Brian of Waterford; and many nieces and nephews.

The Caldwell family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs. Services were previously held in Murphy, NC.
