Katie has always been like a mother to me.. and I often called her mom. It started years ago when I was in elementary school. I was Theresa’s good friend….and I spent many days at their house. Bud and Katie always welcomed me . We use to go to the cabin in Tionesta, camping and skiing…great fun. Sandi was only about 6 years old. Then there were the sleepovers….I stayed over all the time…..lots of times even when Theresa couldn’t be there I would take the bus to their house and sit in the breezeway with Katie watching tv. In high school it was the same…many overnight times and always welcome. She was a warm wonderful person ….proud of her children and life. I saw her recently, she looked the same …a few more wrinkles but who doesn’t have those! I am so sorry I cannot be there with you Theresa, Mick, and Sandi. I am living in North Carolina now and have a few issues and commitments that keep me from being there. I will remember her fondly and know she is in God’s loving arms.
She was a wonderful lady. She always put up with Mick And me on our various adventures.
My best memory of Katie was when she was the cashier at the cafeteria. She always let me take an extra peanut butter cookie or an apple crisp. She knew they were my favorites.
She was a very sweet lady.
