Cecil H. Hull, age 90, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at LECOM Senior Living Center.

Hull, CecilBorn in Waterford on December 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Cecil and Gladys Davis Hull. Cecil served in the US Navy from 1945-1947, then returned home and married Jean E. Klie on August 28, 1948. They lived in Cambridge Springs for many years where Cecil was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, the Masonic Lodge, and the First Baptist Church. In 1966 they moved to Titusville, living there until making their home in Erie in 1984.

Cecil worked for GTE for 36 years and retired at the age of 55. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, bowling, woodworking, and visiting with his grandchildren.

Family members include his wife of almost 70 years, Jean E. Klie Hull; three children- Donna Jean Garner and husband Montie of Hope, AR, Cecil H. Hull Jr. and wife Kathy of Erie, and Cheryl Ann Hummer and husband James of Pittsboro, IN; nine grandchildren- Brittany Ruckle and Ty Garner, Jennifer Schade, Colleen Hull, Sean Hull, and Connor Hull, and Kyle Hummer, Amanda Vavrinak, and Matthew Hummer; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters- Rosanne Lewis and husband Ronnie, and Kathleen Osborn and husband Raymond, all of Waterford.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Hull, and two sisters, Nellie Dennis and Marjorie Newell.

Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. and burial will be private at Mitchell Cemetery in Cambridge Springs.
