Everett Leroy Falconer, 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Cambridge Springs on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018. He was born on May 20, 1938 as the son of the late Ralph and Marie (Bush) Falconer in Tionesta, PA. On Oct 17, 1959 he married the former Louella Van Zandt.
Everett joined the US Air Force in 1956 and served until 1958 at Ardmore Air Force Base.
He worked as an industrial electrical trouble shooter for General Electric, Kaiser Aluminum and Litton Industries all of Erie for many years. Everett also worked as a mechanic for various local shops, as an instructor for the Mercer County Career Center, taught a AARP driving course, and for 14 years drove trucks for Schneider and Hot Shot Express, retiring in 2003. Everett was the 2000 driver of the year.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and bowling. As a member of the Kaiser-Fraser Owners International Club he drove his 1954 Kaiser Special to meets across the country. Everett and Louella trained as missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators and belonged to Washington Valley Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of almost 59 years, Louella; daughter – Holley Hartley and her husband James of Greenville; son – Keith Falconer and his wife Jamie of New Castle; his grandchildren include – Katrina Falconer and her husband, Kyoungmin Park of South Korea; Hannah Zayas and her husband, Joel of Denver CO; Jeremy Falconer of Denver CO, James and Caleb Hartley of Greenville, Cody and Austin Main of New Castle. His great grandchildren are Ethan, Keyden, Mason and Logan Zayas, and Ian and Hailey Park. He is also survived by sisters – Juanita Thompson of Waterford, Doris Fitch and husband, William of Cambridge Springs, Martha Lawrence and husband, Leonard of Kings Mountain, NC and brother Edward Falconer and his wife, Linda of Mill Village. His sisters in law – Evelyn Gerow and Pauline Thomas and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister – Jean Letrent.
Friends may visit on Friday, Sept. 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs and may attend a funeral service there on Saturday at 10 am. Interment will follow at Gravel Run Cemetery.
