Josephine Olnick of 19615 Hecker Rd, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403, known to family as “Jo,” passed away on November 28, 2018 at the age of 94 years.

A lifetime resident of Venango Township, she was born January 14, 1924 in Slickville, PA, a daughter of Nicholas Olynik and Mary Olynik (Hnat). In 1942, she graduated from Edinboro High School. Josephine was a dedicated employee of the Talon Olnick, JosephineZipper Factory in Meadville, PA for over 30 years. Her duties included the manufacture and oversight of quality control. She was a lifelong parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville, PA.

Josephine enjoyed traveling throughout her life and was a talented seamstress with a keen eye for fashion. She loved spending time with her family. As an animal lover, Josephine also enjoyed the company of her pet cats and dogs; strays always found sanctuary with her warmth and affection.

Aunt “Jo” will be forever loved by her numerous nephews and nieces, as well as their children and grandchildren, especially her devoted great niece Megan Whitten and Megan’s fiancé Russell Flory. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers – John, Charles, and Stephen; a half-brother – Michael; a half-sister – Jean; and their spouses; companion – Russell; and two nieces – Rebecca and Jocelyn. She will be fondly remembered by anyone who had the pleasure to meet and know her.

Friends and family may call at the Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church of America in Crossingville on Sunday, December 2 from 5-7 PM. A Panikhida memorial service will be held there Sunday evening at 6:30 PM and a burial service will be held there Monday, December 3 at 10 AM. A repast meal will follow at the Church hall. Archpriest Father Daniel Mathewson, rector of the Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
