Flower, William “Posie”

William “Posie” Flower, born January 31, 1934, died of natural causes on October 23, 2020. He leaves behind his six children: William Jr., Deanna (Joby), Louann, Rhonda, Nadine (Joe), and Kevin; many grandchildren, great-Flower, William001grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty, and a brother, Dennis. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alice and William, and a brother, Greg.

As a friend of Bill W. for 52 years, his power of example lives on through the many he helped, knowingly and unknowingly. He was an iron worker with the Local 348, a welder, and an artist with an eye for plumb level and true. He loved his family, watching the birds at the feeder from his rocking chair, fishing, being in the woods, good cooking and pie. He will be sadly missed by all. A special thank you to a great sponsor.

A memorial life celebration will be announced at a later date.

Going through the middle of Edinboro in our family 1962 stationwagon headed for family Christmas dinner holds a special memory for me. Going through the intersection my Dad yelled Merry Christmas Happy NewYear at honking bustling people as the snow piled up. We were in need it is a time to be celebrated.

I am thankful my Dad is with his Mother he lost at five yrs old and he is embraced with her Love. I feel bad for us he is gone too soon Love and Peace Dad

Was saddened to hear of Posie’s passing. I never actually met him, but knew him through Joby and Shirley! Never ever heard anything but good about him. Rest in peace! My condolences to Deanna and her family, and Joby, who I know had a good relationship with him.

Posie, was an inspiration for many people, I am glad I got to know him over the years. He always had good advice and told you how it was! He told me once after 5 years that you don’t have a slip, it is a choice to drink, That made sense to me. Thank you for the help over the years, you will be sadly missed!

My deepest sympathy. Poise was a great neighbor. I met him while working at the Log Restaurant and discovered he was a neighbor. He plowed my driveway several times and never asked for anything. While he was cutting wood one day I took him a bottle of water and asked if he knew what pay it forward meant? He said yes and he cut and I stacked. I’m so glad I did as that day we sat on his wagon and had such a nice conversation. You will be missed my friend. Rest In Peace.

I liked posie, he was an inspiration through power of example, I came and went a number of times, each time I came back there he was hand out smile on his face. I saw awhile back sitting by the exit at wal mart, I smiled and said it’s good to see you posie, he smiled and said it is good to be seen. Power of example we can change and help others.

Posie was a power of example, I was in and out and each time I came back he was still here a warm smile and hand out. I saw him sitting by the exit in Walmart awhile back, I smiled and said it is good to see you posie as I extended my hand, he reached out smiled and said it is good to be seen, a true power of example, you keep what you have by giving it away.

Posie will be missed but the memories will linger on. Loved him as friend and relative. To all the “kids”…just remember he believed in recovery and redemption and was a great example for others.
