George A. Leonhart, 76, of Radcliff, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Leonhart was retired from the U.S. Army and civil service at Fort Knox.
Mr. Leonhart was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Leonhart; and his parents, Frank and Josephine Leonhart.
Survivors include three daughters, Angela “Angie” Leonhart of Radcliff, Kentucky; Denise “Dee Dee” Long and her husband, Tim, of Florida; and Melissa “Missy” Yarger and her husband, Brent, of Michigan; four grandchildren, Jeramiah Comenzind, Kyle Comenzind, Leolani Lancaster and Cody Yarger; a great-grandson, Kyler “Little Man” Comenzind; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Friends are invited to call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 335 Venango Avenue, Cambridge Springs, on Friday, November 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held there at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Van Matre Family Home with the Rev. Rod Beardsley pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Venango Cemetery.
