Deborah Sue Gevin, 71, of Cambridge Springs, PA passed into the embrace of God on March 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters at her home. Deborah was born on May 21, 1949, the daughter of the late Merritt, Jr. & Myrna Mitchell. She married Dale Gevin January 17, 1970. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Deborah worked a full life as a dedicated homemaker. Her pride and joy was her daughters and grandchildren and her immaculately kept home.
???? Deborah was an active member of the Venango United Methodist Church where she benefited its ministries with her wonderful cooking, including apple pies made with apples from their backyard apple orchard. A lifelong hobby of Deborah?s was maintaining her pristine white ?77 Oldsmobile and enjoying summertime drives in it. Bowling was another lifelong interest, bowling in various leagues at Lost Lanes where she carried a 167 average and a high game of 225. She was a lifetime member at the Venango VFW, Post 169 Ladies Auxiliary and the Rundell?s Grange.
Survivors, in addition to her husband include: her brother Kevin Mitchell (Daisy) of Saegertown and two daughters: Christina S. Ewing (David) of Pittsburgh and Darcie L. Lucas (Thomas) of Cambridge Springs; grandchildren Timothy, Matthew, Zachery and Kaitlynn Lucas, all of Cambridge Springs; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Ashley Ann Lucas, a brother William Mitchell, and both parents Merritt & Myrna Mitchell.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service to be held there on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Ewing, son-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
