Daisy Elvirda Henry, 85, of Cambridge Springs passed away on March 5, 2021, at Wesbury Community. Daisy was born in Cambridge Springs on October 30, 1935, the daughter of the late Everett and Iva Elvirda Smeltzer Terrill.? Daisy graduated with the Cambridge Springs High School class of 1954, before attending Anderson College, Anderson, IN.?? On October 10, 1959, she married Clinton Henry.? She worked for the Bell Telephone Co. as a long-distance operator in the Meadville, PA, Anderson, IN, Youngtown, OH, and Batavia, NY, offices before working part-time at the Edinboro Shur-Fine grocery store.
????Daisy loved the Lord and was a great testament to her family and others regarding Jesus? love and the power of prayer.? She was very active in the Cambridge Springs Church of God teaching children and adult Sunday School classes, serving as a local and state officer of the Women of the Church of God and on the church?s benevolence committee.? In recent years, she attended Hope Baptist Church in Meadville, PA.
Daisy enjoyed nature, particularly gardening, growing flowers, and bird watching.? She could often be heard saying ?Look at those flowers. Aren?t they beautiful??
She was preceded in death by brothers, Nelson and Herman Terrill.
In addition to her husband, Clinton, survivors include children: David (Robin) Henry of Saegertown, PA; ?Martha (David) Spaid of Cambridge Springs, PA; Mark Henry of Lavonia, GA; John Henry of Fayetteville, PA; Elizabeth (Donald) Burnett of Meadville, PA; stepdaughter Melissa (Robert) Oberlander of Waterford, PA; grandchildren: Ashley DuFour, Courtney Reynolds, Brock Henry, Drew Henry, Kari Beth Steiner, Colton Spaid, Kendall Joy Spaid, Alesia Jordan, Brooke Coker, Kara Henry, Alexis Burnett, Rian Burnett, Reese Burnett, Dontae Burnett, Amory Oberlander, Jordan Oberlander, Courtney Oberlander and Kaitlin Oberlander; 19 greatgrandchildren; and brother, Clarence Terrill of Meadville, PA; and brother, Dale (Jan) Terrill of Reedsburg, WI.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs, on Thursday, March 11, from 6-8 p.m. and are invited to call on Friday, March 12 from 10 -11 a.m. at the First Church of God, Cambridge Springs. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Millers Station Cemetery.
Daisy?s family would like to thank the employees of Wesbury Nursing Home for their excellent care and love they gave to her in her last months of life.
