\With the hand held embrace of her loving daughters, Pamela Kubeya Phipps-Way reunited with her son and the creator on March 30, 2021. Pamela was a force to be reckoned with.
She was a Covid 19 survivor. Even with the grim diagnosis of infective endocarditis, she fought until her last breath.
Pamela was born to the late Mary Ann Kubeya on January 30, 1956. She met her first husband and gave birth to her one and only son, Brad Lee O’Connell, on May 30, 1974. After her son’s passing, she remarried and gave birth to three beautiful and strong daughters.
Pamela enjoyed raising her daughters and was a stay-at-home mother for years. Ultimately, she decided to purchase her first home on Frisbeetown Road. Pamela loved country life–she planted huge vegetable gardens, stacked firewood like a pro, and raised her beloved Rottweiler, Maxx.
When her daughters were grown, Pamela attended school to drive semi trucks. Against all norms and with her prior knowledge of using colorful “sentence enhancers”, she graduated and succeeded. Pam was under 5 feet tall but she loved the freedom and control of driving big rigs. A few years later, she became a school bus driver. She worked at First student for many years and eventually retired in 2016.
Pamela is proceeded in death by her first child and only son, Brad O’ Connell; sister Sandra Rocco; Elizabeth and Bill Brady; her mother Mary Ann Kubeya; and many other family members not listed.
Pamela is survived by three daughters, Stefine Plonski Stanton and boyfriend, Justin of NY, Jennifer Plonski Tyson (Charles) of Canadohta Lake, and Amanda Plonski Goodman (Cody) of Mill Village; nine grandchildren: Riley, Ryan, Adam, and Julia Stanton of NY, Amyra and Evan Kelley of NC/PA, Coleton Gool, Natalya and Ridge of Mill Village, PA; Pam’s dog Cloe, her cat Momma; and childhood friends Mary Jane Zewe (Rick), Theresa and Carol.
A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held at the family’s discretion. Please honor Pam by sending a memorial donation to the Waterford Cemetery, PO Box 26, Mill Village, PA 16427.
