Reed Martin Gage, 87, of Cambridge Springs passed from this life into eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at his residence. Reed was born in Cambridge Township on September 22, 1933, the son of the late Howard and Anna Gage. He lived his entire life on the Gage-Green farms. Reed attended Isherwood Corners School through 8th grade and then graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1951, where he was an outstanding basketball player. Then, at the age of 17, he began his life-long career as a dairy farmer. On October 8, 1953, Reed married Nancy Jean Devore of Cambridge Springs. He was aided in running the farm by his wife, Nancy, of 67 years, until he retired in 1995.  During his farming years, Reed and his family produced maple syrup which rewarded him with numerous county fair and state awards. Reed enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cambridge Springs serving many years as a trustee and deacon. Reed will be remembered as a quiet and honest man of God.

     In addition to his parents, Reed was preceded in death by sister, Patty (Gage) Dies and brother-in-law, Marvin Dies.

     Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Barbara Jean (Gage) Ruland and husband, Pete of Troy, OH; son, Thomas Martin Gage and wife, Kay of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Susan Maret  (Gage) Eddy and husband, Jim of Canal Fulton, OH; and son, James Lloyd Gage and wife, Robin of Beverly Hills, Fl. Reed was blessed with nine grandchildren: Thomas Martin Gage, Jr. and wife, Tenae; Julie (Gage) Kania and husband, Darrell; Patrick Eddy and wife, Chrise; Timothy Eddy and Joelle De Lisi; Matthew Eddy and wife, Teneal; Andrew Gage and wife, Jessica; Rachel Ruland, Adam Gage and Alyssa Gage. Reed was also beloved by 8 great grandchildren: Cyrus Gage, Gunnar Gage, Bryce Kania, Brett Kania, Sophia Eddy, Emmett Eddy, Max Eddy, Reed Eddy, Autumn DeLisi and Jack DeLisi.      

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs on Thursday, April 15, from 1-3 p.m. and are invited to a funeral service there at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Rod Beardsley officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Cambridge Springs.
