John William Porter, 75, of Cambridge Springs passed away suddenly, on December 29, 2021, at Meadville Medical Center. John was born on June 29, 1946, the son of the late Merle and Marjorie Orr Porter. He graduated with the Cambridge Springs High School class of 1964 and married Gerry “Gigi” Louise Gruber on Mary 29, 1966.

He had been a salesman for Spaulding, Inc of Meadville for over 30 years and had also worked at Logan Inc of Butler for 24 years. He was a devoted member of McLane Church and belonged to the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and working on his cars.         

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by brother, Larry Porter and his wife, Phyllis; and sister, Helen Andrews and her husband, Frank; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Porter.

Survivors include wife, Gigi Porter of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Marcy Confer and her husband, Todd of Cambridge Springs; son, Mike Porter of Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren: Tony Confer and his wife, Sarah of Erie, Lucas Confer of Cambridge Springs, Mike Porter, Jr. of Cambridge Springs, and Ashlee Porter of Meadville; three great grandchildren: Blaze Mullen, Kyleigh Confer, and Kayleigh Confer; and sister, Lois Mott and her husband, Chester of Linesville.

Friends are invited to a memorial service to be held at McLane Church, Edinboro on January 8, 2022, at 11 am.
