Ryan William Harding, age 38, of Union City, died in an auto accident on January 4, 2022. He was born July 26, 1983, and grew up in the countryside of Union City. Ryan learned to love farming from an early age, and over the years, he worked for farms both in the local area and in Georgia where he had moved with his family. After living in Georgia for 14 years, he recently moved back to the Union City area, and was currently employed with the Union City Livestock Auction and Corwin Construction. Ryan was an avid hunter and fisherman. Spending time with his family and friends was always a priority, and he never failed to tell his family that he loved them.

Ryan will be sadly missed by those he left behind – his mom Julie Metzenbacher Ludwig and his dad Robert Ludwig; his brother Spencer Harding and his wife Liz, of Erie; his sister Emilie Staley and her husband Will, of Georgia; his brother Robert J. Ludwig and his wife Jenn, of Erie; his sister Kate Gibbs and her husband Jon, of Fairview; his grandparents William and Joyce Metzenbacher, of Waterford, and Sharon Holland, of Erie; his father Wess Harding and his wife Rose, of Waterford; a very good friend, Mr. Terry Daniels, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an uncle – Jeff Metzenbacher; and his grandparents – Wess Harding Sr. and Barbara Harding.

Friends may call Saturday, January 8, from 2-5 pm, at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford, and attend a funeral service there on Sunday at 2:00, officiated by Timothy Moreland, pastor of Washington Valley Christian Church. Burial will be at Waterford Cemetery.
