Mary Alice McMunn, 76, of Cambridge Springs passed away due to a motor vehicle accident on January 7, 2022. Mary Alice was born in Pittsburgh on April 13, 1945, daughter of the late John Joseph Burnell and Alice Marie Lewis Burnell. Mary Alice graduated with the Cambridge Springs High School Class of 1963 and for many years worked as a billing clerk at the former Spencer Hospital. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Salvation Army, the Cambridge Springs Ministerium, Cambridge Springs Community Theatre and Release Time. She was a foster parent to many and a youth advocate and founding member of the Crawford County Court Appointed Special Advocate program and member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served on the Synod Council.

She was preceded in death by niece Susan Davis and nephews Daniel Schell III, Daniel Schell IV and Joseph Belfiore.
Survivors include husband David McMunn of Cambridge Springs whom she married on February 27, 1988, daughter Annette Powell (Kenneth) of Newaygo, MI, son Randy Wikris of Nazareth, PA, daughter Andrea Festa (Kurt) of Cambridge Springs, stepson Michael McMunn (Renee) of Monroe, GA, stepdaughter Patricia Maziarz (Mitchell, III) of Meadville, grandchildren: Amber Murosky (Chris), Alex Festa, Anna, Nathan, Elizabeth, James, Michael and Gabrielle Wikris, Alyssa Maziarz, Abigail McMunn, Mitchell Maziarz, IV, and Alexander McMunn, sister Rita Brienzi (Herbert) of New Port Richey, FL, sister Lois Schell (Dan) of Saegertown, brother John Burnell (Kathy) of Cambridge Springs, sister Janet Stubbe (David) of Port Richey, FL, sister Joan Belfiore (John) of Cambridge Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, January 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and are invited to a funeral service to be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 15, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25812 Mt Pleasant Rd, Cambridge Springs. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Crawford County CASA or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Mary Alice I will miss your beautiful smile and big heart. Remembering back on all the years of playing cards and you always somehow kept Dave in line. Dave my thoughts go out to you and the family love you!!!

Mary Alice, I will miss you so much! I LOVED your company on our car rides to Lutherlyn and our deep conversations about family and church. You always made me laugh and we’re a breath of fresh air in my life. I know that you will be directing multitudes of angels in heaven! Mary Alice loved well everyone in her circle of influence. I was privileged to simply be her friend. I will miss you Mary Alice but I know that we will spend eternity together.
