Joseph E. Shrader, 70, of Cambridge Springs passed away unexpectedly, on January 24, 2022. He was born in Dublin Township, PA, on November 11, 1951, the son of the late Earl E Shrader, Sr and Hilda G. Cowan Shrader. Joe graduated from the Chambersburg High School in 1969, Edinboro University in 1991, and received his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 1994.  He served with the Pennsylvania National Guard for four years and had been a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic shooting team. He was active in the Cambridge Springs community serving several terms on Cambridge Springs Borough Council and as mayor.  He was an avid hunter and member of the Cambridge Springs and Saegertown Rod and Gun clubs. 

     Joe is survived by his wife Connie Bracken Shrader of Cambridge Springs whom he married on June 12, 1971; son Joseph E. Shrader and his wife Marci and their children Max and Megan Shrader of Rostraver, Pa; son Jason E. Shrader and his wife Kimberly and their children Hannah and Dominic Shrader of Edinboro, Pa. 

     Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday, January 27, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held there on Friday, January 28 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Newtonburg, PA.
