Virginia Eileen Kerr, age 95, of Mill Village, died Monday, May 9, 2022 at Edinboro Manor. Born in Woodcock Township, Crawford County on May 5, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Stuart and Gertrude Manross Carr. She married George Kerr on November 3, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Virginia was a homemaker and loved caring for her family who meant the world to her. Sunday dinners, holidays, and any family gatherings were very special times that she cherished. For 15 years, Virginia worked in the Fort LeBoeuf School cafeteria and also had substituted at Mill Village School cafeteria. During the fall months, she could be seen working extra hours during the local potato harvest. She was a member and former elder of the Mill Village Presbyterian Church, she attended the Union City Senior Center, and for years, she helped her husband lead the local Boy Scouts.

In addition to her husband George, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Kenemuth; two sisters, Beatrice Brown and Patricia Kingen; and two brothers, Nathan and Robert Carr.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Martha Smith and husband Gene of Union City, Faye Silbaugh and husband John of Interlachen, FL; her son, George Kerr and wife Gayle of Waterford; son-in-law, Don Kenemuth of Waterford; her brother, John Carr and wife Fern of Summit Township; 5 grandchildren- Reuben Smith (Ashley), Ann Fink (Dan), Thomas Leute Jr. (Amanda), Jessica Corriel (Matt), and Jason Kerr (Miranda); 8 great-grandchildren- Jada and Bradon, Camden and Claire, Georgia and Jackson, and Kylie and Brielle; and two honorary great-grandchildren- Kenny and Virginia.

Visiting hours will be held at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Sunday from 3-6 pm. The funeral service will be there Monday at 11:00 am officiated by Pastors Rob Willert and Linda Dinger. Interment will follow in Mill Village Cemetery.
