Ken was a graduate of Tusculum College and University of Tennessee Law School. He spent his entire career as a lawyer with State Farm Insurance. He was an active volunteer who gave his time and service to every community and church of which he was a part; he was especially valued for his honor and integrity in every aspect of his life, brightened by his understated humor and wit.
I was so fortunate to have spent time with Uncle Ken, Aunt Bev, Alice Ann and Grant growing up! Summers on the Jersey shore with Jersey Gramps the McLaren and Hague families are indeed my fondest memories! Uncle Ken was a prankster! His smile was infectious! His laugh bellowed throughout the home we shared while vacationing. His southern drawl was undeniable, even after years in Pennsylvania. He was long and lanky, always well dressed, a very handsome man. Uncle Ken will not be forgotten. His legacy will live on through my dear cousin Grant, whom I affectionately refer to as my little, big cousin. Yup, Grant towers over me. Grant was a faithful son, caring for Uncle Ken for many years. Grant often cut me short on the telephone to prepare a home cooked meal for Uncle Ken. Dear cousin Grant, I’m saddened by your most recent losses. Your faithful canine companion, Heidi, and now your dad. Your love and devotion to both surpassed all others. Please remember you are not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you, now and forever!! Love always, your big, little cousin Melanie
I am very sorry for your loss Grant. Janet and family, you were wonderful to the McLaren family. Sue Swanson
