David Wayne White, 62, of North Mosiertown Road, Edinboro, passed away on July 22, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He had fought a brave battle with cancer for over six years. Born May 14, 1960, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of A. Wayne and the late Carol (Davis) White. Dave was a 1978 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. On September 10, 1994, he married the former Patricia June Dillinger. He was a member of Carmel Baptist Church of Mosiertown, where he served as a deacon and often filled the pulpit on many occasions. Dave was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed baseball and in his twenties spent several nights a week as a baseball umpire. He attended Wendelstedt MLB Umpire School in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was an outdoorsman who loved turkey and deer hunting. Woodworking was Dave’s favorite pastime. His talents included creating unique works of art such as bowls, tables, and various pieces of one-of-a-kind furniture. He also specialized in engraving, which he had completed on numerous gun stocks. Always seeking to increase his knowledge and skills, Dave was a very creative person. He was employed as a welder for several years and had recently worked with Craig Newell Welding as a salesman.

Dave was predeceased by his mother, Carol White, in 2019.
In addition to his father, Wayne White, he is survived by his wife, Trisha White of Edinboro; son, Adam White of Edinboro; daughter, Amanda White of Edinboro; sister, Cindy (Dean) Benedict of Hughesville, PA; brother, Randy (Julie) White of Edinboro; brother-in-law, Dan Dillinger; sisters-in-law, Donna Dillinger, Paula Dillinger, Brenda (Jeff) Eells, Doris (Rick) Copeland, and Beth (Jerry) White; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Wednesday, July 27, from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 12 noon with Rev. Dan Greenfield officiating. Interment will follow at Reichel Cemetery.
I am sorry to hear of David’s passing, so early in life. Although I haven’t seen him in decades, I still remember his quietness and eagerness to smile. God bless his family during this tough time.
