Betty Docter, 83, passed away on August 11, 2022.  Betty was born September 12, 1938, in Titusville the oldest of sixteen children born to the late Frank and Sussie Henton. She worked at MFG Boat Company, Elgin Electronics, and retired from LORD Corporation, Cambridge Springs, December 1998. She and her first husband Carl A Johnson purchased a farm on Sturgis Road and raised their family there. She enjoyed riding her horse, Boog and country life. To her, crocheting was more than a hobby. Her handiwork became gifts of blankets, baby sweaters and slippers, and she entered her blankets, baby sets and doilies in local county fairs wining numerous first-place ribbons. She started a crochet club with friends and family. She liked hosting and going to family reunions and was more than an aunt to many nieces and nephews opening her heart and home to those in need.  She took pleasure in taking memorial flowers to family gravesites. Betty loved square dancing and met her second husband Kenneth Docter at a dance. Ken and Betty belonged to The Wattsburg Square Dance Club and enjoyed numerous road and bus tours together. When her health declined, she moved to the Crawford County Care Center. Her family would like to thank the nursing staff for the wonderful care given to Betty.

     She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl August Johnson, April 1984; son Phillip Ray Johnson, September 2011; stepdaughter, Eva White McClenahan; second husband, Kenneth Docter, December 2018; brothers and sisters, Lawrence and Gloria Henton, Hazel & Jack Nunamaker, and Margaret & Donald Dean; and infant brothers Paul J and Frank William Henton. 

     Survivors include son, Richard Lee Johnson of Edinboro; son, Paul August Johnson of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Katherine Johnson Lutton (Richard ) of Erie; daughter, Jennifer Martin (Dave) of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Jessica Johnson of Cambridge Springs; step-son, James Docter (Cindy)of Erie; stepson, Kenneth Johnson (Susan) of Union City; step-daughter, Choyce Anne Peterson of Erie; grandsons Kristopher and Nicholas Servidio, Carl, Jeremiah, Robert, and Joseph Johnson, Jason Docter, Keith and Kevin Johnson, Steven, Tom, Jeff and Mark White, Michael Komorek, and Kodi, Dante, and Quanah Graham; grandaughters Corinne Schwarzfeld (David), Tina Zakosteleky (Sean), Melissa Patrick (Billy), Brenna Johnson, Jean Fenno (Doug), Brandi Scalise and Lynn Johnson; brothers Elwin, James, Charles (Lorie), and  Tommy Henton; sisters Helen McCalmont, Mary Nunamaker (Ron), Susan Johnson (Kenneth) ,Marilynn Marra, Linda Crammer, and Dianne Henton; several great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

     Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Thursday, August 18, from 4 until time of funeral service at 7:45 pm. Interment will be at Millers Station Cemetery.
