Judith May Brooks, age 82, of Waterford, died Monday, October 24, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. Born in Erie on September 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Gustave Gaber and Adell Lewis Gaber.

Judy was primarily a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed all animals, particularly watching and feeding the birds, flower gardening, and shopping at the Salvation Army Store in Union City. She had many close friends at her apartment building and she especially loved her 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Over the years, Judy worked at Edinboro University, Elgin Electronics, MFG; and she was an Avon Lady and even picked potatoes at Ballog’s in Union City.
Family members include her son Robert Brooks and wife Vicky of Corry, daughter Pamela Fish and husband Troy of Union City, her daughter-in-law Jennifer Levans of Union City, and her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Brooks, son Dennis Brooks, step-daughter Cindy Foster, step-son Tony Brooks, grandson Daryl Nunemaker, and her four brothers- Bill, Jim, John, and Don Gaber.
Visiting hours will be private for the family at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford.

Judy and I became friends during the many years we worked together at Edinboro University. We had a lot of fun too.
