Gary Ray Dugaw, age 78, of Erie, and formerly of Edinboro, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving wife and family, having fought a hero’s battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Union City on May 13, 1944, to the late Leon Henry Dugaw and Agnes Maude Hawley Dugaw.

Known as an excellent employee, Gary’s amazing work ethic earned him high regards and promotions during his career. He worked at Cohen Auto Parts; 2 years at Airco Inc.; 30 years at Findley; and 10 years at Airgas before beginning his well-earned retirement.

An outdoorsman, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and traveling. Spending time with those he loved was always a priority for Gary, and he left behind the gift of many happy memories and conversations for them to cherish and to pass on. He was an avid fan of football, especially rooting for his favorites – the Cleveland Browns and the Oregon Ducks. Gary was a member of the South Erie Turners, the National Club, and the Knights of St. George.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife Avanel, and a sister Gladys Allen-Gocal.
