Elmer Charles Herrick, age 89, of Cambridge Springs passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Edinboro Manor. Charles was born on July 15, 1933, in Meadville the son of the late Clyde W. Herrick and Mary Braun Herrick. He graduated from Cambridge Springs High School with the class of 1951 and trained as a mason working for numerous years in Cleveland. He then returned to the Herrick family farm in 1965 and continued farming until his retirement. Charles enjoyed being outdoors and planting and managing his forested land.

     Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Houston Herrick on April 13, 2012.

     Survivors include wife Sandra Baker Herrick whom he married on May 5, 2020, daughter Kay Marie Smith and her husband Tim of Gainesville, Florida, son Tim Herrick of Lancaster, Kentucky, son Dan Herrick and his wife Liz of Cambridge Springs, granddaughter Kaitlynn Smith, grandson Jason Smith, grandson Mark Herrick, granddaughter Elizabeth Herrick, granddaughter Abigail Herrick, grandson Joshua Herrick, granddaughter Rebekah Herrick, grandson Jonathan Herrick, granddaughter Hannah Herrick, granddaughter Naomi Herrick, sister Elaine Smiliak and her husband Norbert, stepson Scott Baker and his wife, Kim of Titusville, step grandchildren Brandi Struchen and Broc Baker, and step great-great grandchildren Liam and Lincoln Struchen and Braxton Baker.        

Friends may call at the Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, October 21, from 6-8 pm and are invited to a funeral service to be held at the Brown Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday at 10 am  with the Rev. Roger Hogel officiating. Interment will follow at the Herrick Family cemetery.
