Edwin “EJ” Rudolph Jassak, age 86, longtime resident of McKean and recent resident of Brevillier Village, passed away Thursday, October 6th, 2022. He was born in Utica, NY on January 26, 1936, son of the late Rudolph L. Jassak and Emilia Maziarz Jassak.

He was an engineer for General Electric for 38 years, retiring at the age of 55. After retiring, he could be seen riding around his property on his four-wheeler, taking care of his apple and pear trees. He was a friend to all the deer in the area, making sure they were well fed especially in the depths of winter. His late German Shepherd, Tara, was well known to all that needed to approach his home and will surely be guarding him once more.
EJ was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years- Geraldine “Gerri” Jassak, his stepson -Bruce Christiansen, grandson-James “JJ” Jassak, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughters- Debbi Croff, Jean Giese, Judi Burks; sons-David Jassak (Patti) and Joseph Jassak (Lisa); stepchildren- Chuck Christiansen (Joanne) and Karen Christiansen Cooper (Dick); and daughter-in-law Linda Christiansen as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Per his request no viewing or service will be held.

I am sorry to hear about E J. We were very good friends for many years did a lot to gather visiting Joe in Montana went to see him 3 times first time was with his wife Gerry when Joe was in Yellowstone. We went to dinner often. We fixed things for the Amish in Burton Ohio. I’m going to miss him greatly. He was a great friend!
