Richard Raymond Humes, age 61, of McKean, PA, formerly of Key West, Florida for 30 years, passed away at his home on December 1, 2022 after a battle with cancer.

Richard was a 1979 graduate of General McLane High School. He worked at Jimmy Buffett’s Coconut Telegraph and did many other jobs for Jimmy Buffett over the years such as a stage hand for many shows. Most recently, Rick worked at Jimmy Buffett’s studio where he helped to produce many CD’s for Jimmy Buffett and other artists like Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, George Strait, and Toby Keith. He also worked at Jamison Productions of Key West, Florida. Rick lived his dream life doing what he loved and meeting many famous people.
Rick had a true love for music and sports. His favorite sports teams were the Cleveland Guardians, Dallas Cowboys, and the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Buffalo Bills with his great-nephew, Chase.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Humes (Junior); his grandparents, Willie and Mary Stafford, and Ruth and Raymond Humes; and his beloved cat, Stanley.
Survivors include his mother, Arlene Stafford Humes; sister, Sandy Brown (Ray); nieces Amanda and Tiffany Brown; his great-nephew, Chase; and many beloved friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at Edinboro Cemetery with Pastor Ron Kennedy officiating.
Rick’s family would like to thank the staff on the 9th floor of St. Vincent Hospital and also AseraCare Hospice. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Rick was a good man and a friend since the 1980s via Margaritaville and Key West. I am so to learn of his passing.

Rick was a good, kind man. Lost touch over the years but would see him when I visited KW and always with his larger than life smile. I mostly remember what a great little league pitcher he was for our team with his side arm style pitching;). He will certainly be missed by many. My condolences to Rick’s family and prayers. Dave
