Cheryl Ann Sedlak, 69, of Meadville passed away at her residence on January 30, 2023. Cheryl was born in Meadville on September 10, 1953, the daughter of the late Ralph Smith and Ruth Lenox Smith. After graduating from Townville High School class of 1971, Cheryl earned a degree from Edinboro University. She worked for Meadville Medical Center as a social worker, director of social services, and retired from Vantage Healthcare after serving as vice president of strategic planning.

For over twenty-five years, she was the choir director and organist for Grace United Methodist Church and was a current member of Stone United Methodist Church in Meadville. Though Cheryl faced numerous health issues, she was always able to see life as a blessing. She was able to travel, but always enjoyed coming home and admiring her yard and garden. Home provided her continued energy to face life’s next opportunity.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Thomas Sedlak of Meadville; daughter Kristen Cihon (Stephen) of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Kendrah Kidd (Chris Ward) of Winston-Salem, NC and their children Ellis and Rory; sister, Connie Gibbons (Ron) of Glenburn, ND; brother, Dennis Smith (Toni) of Erie, PA; sister, Cressa Harsh (Brian) of Sheakleyville, PA; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Friday, February 3rd, from 6-8 pm and on Saturday, February 4th from 10-11 am. A funeral service will begin at 11 am with Rev. Sara Roncolato officiating. Committal and interment will follow at Millers Station Cemetery.

I can still see Cheryl up front at the Brown Hill church playing. She was a very lovely lady with a beautiful soul.
