Philip E. Sturm, 90, of Meadville passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Phil was born in Cherry Valley, Ohio on June 23, 1932, the son of the late William Philip Sturm and Kate Ella Centers Sturm. After Philip’s schooling in Edinboro, he began a fifty-year career operating the Sturm Family Dairy Farm. Until his retirement in 2006, he and his wife, Dorothy Zeborowski Sturm, whom he married on February 16, 1952, were hard working dairy farmers of an award-winning herd. He was an avid hunter with many interests including coon hunting with his dogs, trapping, fishing, camping, and traveling. He enjoyed hosting large neighborhood picnics, square dancing and playing pinochle and was passionate about working with his draft horses. 

     He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. 

     Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Sturm of Meadville; daughter, Gail LeSuer and her husband, Nevearin of Edinboro; daughter, Cindy Mitchell and her husband, Mick of Saegertown; son, Rob Sturm and his wife, Cindy of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Kim Gardner and her husband, James of Belle, TN; daughter, Sandy Stoll and her husband, Conrad of Cambridge Springs; daughter, Connie Steiner and her husband, Jim of Saegertown; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

     Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday, February 24, from 10-11 am. A funeral service will begin at 11 am with the Rev. Rich Jones of the Conneautville Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
