Raymond E. (Butch) Heasley Jr., 72, of Waterford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 with his daughter by his side after a two-year courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 31, 1950, son of the late Raymond E. Heasley Sr. and Lois (Kemick) Heasley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his great drinking and gambling buddy, Randy Nearhoof.

He is survived by his children, Melisa (Josh) Belden, Raymond (Teresa) Heasley III, and William (Jenny Rose) Heasley; grandchildren, Traie (with whom he loved to share his Reese Cups), Kaleb, Mickeal, Jordan, Autumn, Mikaya, Mia, Willa Rose, and Bodhi; great-grandchildren, Brylee and Greyson; brothers, James (Debbie) Heasley, Jeffrey Heasley; sisters, Sandra (Mark) Beebe and Susan (Doug) Brown; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 285, a Local 210 Roofing Journeyman for 43 years, a HUGE Nascar fan while cheering on Dale Earnhardt Sr., and an avid hunter.

Burial was private for the family at Waterford Cemetery. Per his request there will be no service hours observed, but a Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
