Jenna Ann Bolton passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born on August 8th, 1984 in Erie, PA, daughter of Christine (Ozimek) Bolton and the late James Willard Bolton.

At a young age, Jenna loved ski trips with the family and swimming in the pool and the lake in the summer. She was a wonderful writer. Fueled by her father’s love of the school, Jenna attended Penn State University and Edinboro University graduating with undergraduate and graduate degrees in family counseling. She went on to become a family therapist and ran her own successful practice. She found great strength, love and community through her faith.
In May of 2014, Jenna was blessed with her greatest gift, her beloved son Finlay. Jenna was a devoted and loving mother. She and Finlay enjoyed spending time at Waldameer in the wave pool, riding the roller coasters and playing games together.
Jenna loved to make little moments special. She was extremely thoughtful with gifts, finding just the perfect personalized touch to suit someone’s taste. She made holidays memorable for Finlay and her nieces by creating many magical experiences and memories.
Jenna is survived by her son Finlay, her mother Christine, her brother Jamie (Amy) and his daughters (Anna, Mary), and many other loving family members.
Friends are invited to join the family at 10:30am prior to a memorial service starting at 11:00am on Friday, April 14th at Van Matre Funeral Home, Edinboro. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for her son in care of the funeral home, the Van Matre Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro, PA, 16412.
The family would like to thank UPMC Home Healthcare – Family Hospice for their services and support.
I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Jenna. During the most difficult time of my life I met Jenna and began a 4 year journey with her of trying to work through the loss of my wonderful husband. Her empathy and understanding, her ability to listen and guide me, thoughtful suggestions and caring truly helped in so many ways.
Jenna shared stories and pictures of her son Finlay and you could just see how much love he brought her. I know her family meant the world to her.
May her love and light forever surround you.
Chris and family, My sincere sympathy.
Mrs Bolton,
I am very sorry to hear of Jenna’s passing. I lost my daughter to ovarian cancer in 2018. And then my husband died of a brain tumor in 2020. Who would have predicted the way our life journeys have taken us.
My profound sympathy,
Annette Rilling
Jamie – Sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and your family.
