Charles Duane Wellman, age 91, of Edinboro, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Edinboro Manor. He was born in Nebraska, PA on April 26, 1932, son of the late Lynn and Janet Thomson Wellman.
Charles attended several grade schools and graduated from Edinboro High School in 1950. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on January 3, 1953. Upon returning to Edinboro, he helped his Dad at their poultry farm after which he worked at the General McLane High School cafeteria for 32 years.
He enjoyed gardening with vegetables and flowers which he sold at his flower shop in Edinboro. As hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. He was a member of the Edinboro Methodist Church for several years.
Family members preceding him in death include his parents, his brother Ron, and sister Anne. Charles is survived by his brother, Larry Wellman and his wife Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will gather at the Edinboro Methodist Church on Friday, June 2nd from 4-5 pm with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or the Edinboro Methodist Church.
My uncle had bad days, but turned it around and became more focus on family and so many friends,ya he could talk about subjects that where at past time,but always cared about family, friends,coworkers,GM Staff,Students,RIP love you thanks for being a big part of my life.
Charles will be missed at the manor. He always had a story to tell and a friendly smile.
