Matilda C. Houser, 77, formerly of Union City sadly lost her ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia in the early morning of Sept 21, 2023. She was born in Corry, the daughter of the late Gerald and Virginia Lord Ross, youngest of siblings Gerald, Judy and Richard. Her interests included reading, knitting, and Little House reruns. As a lover of music and longtime member of the Parade Street United Methodist Church, Union City she loved singing with her church choir. She would routinely spend time working out at Curves followed by reading to her grandchildren. Her truest love was her family and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was kind with a compassionate heart which she used to serve, working as a Nurse’s Assistant for nearly thirty years at various retirement facilities and personal care positions.

She is survived by her two children, Tina Lawson of Vero Beach, FL and Gerry Houser of Brooklyn, NY; three granddaughters Niki Baik of Titusville, Leighanne Young of Erie and Ashley Hanlon of Pleasantville; and twelve great grandchildren (Hunter, Cole, Taylor, Bailey, Brock, Piper, Emmie, Sadie, Max, Noah, Chloe and Rhett); and sister, Judy Styborski of Conneaut Lake.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, Cambridge Springs on Monday, September 25, beginning at 10 am with a celebration of life service at 11. Committal and interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
Memorials may be made to the Parade Street United Methodist Church, Union City.
