William Carl Vollmer, age 94, longtime resident of Waterford, died Friday, September 22, 2023 at LECOM Senior Living Center. He was born May 10, 1929, in Erie, son of late William Carl and Lena Emilia Rullmann Vollmer.

Bill served in the United States Army from 1951-57, and was machinist by trade, working at American Sterilizer. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at his breakfast club, and with his friends at the Waterford Hotel.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Vollmer; and 2 brothers – Donald (Susan) Vollmer, and Richard (Dorothy) Vollmer.

Survivors include his niece Dana Holeva, of Meadville, and her children – Lena, Olivia, Grayson, and Ethan; and three step-children.

Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Thursday from 4-6 pm. Burial will be private at Waterford Cemetery-West on Friday.
