Edward Lee Post, age 86, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Manchester Commons. He was born in Maysville, KY on March 5, 1937 to the late Alton Edward Post and Mary Lillian Hickerson Post. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi Ruth Post in 1997.

His hobbies included archery, trap shooting, and marathon running. He was an avid turkey and bird hunter, and raised his own Brittany Spaniels. It was easy to make friends with Ed, and it was always a pleasure to spend time in his company, as he was an avid reader and storyteller. His stories found their expression and development through his membership in Pennwriters. A bit of a character, Ed often referred to himself as a pipe-smoking hillbilly.

Ed and Naomi were blessed with three children. A daughter, Cindy Post Cowfer died in 2011. He is survived by a daughter Lisa Barner (Kenneth) of Cranesville, and a son Alton Post (Carrie) of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren – Rex Barner (Sintoyia) of Morgantown, WV, Sara Merritt (Jared) of Erie, and Hannah Cowan of Edinboro; a great-grandchild Millie Joy; three brothers-in-law – Jerry Dillon (Jean) of Flemingsburg, KY, Mark Dillon (June) of Foxport, KY, and Barry Dillon of Foxport, KY; and one sister-in-law, Judy Denton of Flemingsburg, KY.
