Dana E. Morrison, age 72, of Wattsburg, died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, after a battle with vascular dementia. Born in Erie on February 13, 1951, he was the son of Orren James and Violet Seely Morrison.

After graduating from Wattsburg School in 1969, Dana served in the United States Army. He spent his career as an iron worker for Local 348 of Erie until his retirement. Dana was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 285 in Waterford, and the Edinboro/McKean VFW Post 740. For the past year, he was a resident in the Soldiers and Sailors Home of Erie.

Dana enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was taking a long walk with his daughter, shoveling, fishing year round, or just going to one of his grandkids’ sporting events. He also loved going for rides with no certain destination in mind.

Survivors include his daughters – Stacy Gladitz (Carl) and Leslie Morrison; his grandchildren – Morgan, Allie, and Jared; his big brother Elmer Morrison (Vickie); his companion Barb Yaple; his former wife of 38 years, Vickie Morrison, with whom he remained friends; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Linda Morrison; his father-in-law Terrance Hibbard; his nephew EJ Morrison; and, most importantly, his son Matthew.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 4, from 2-6 pm, at St. Boniface Ushers’ Club on Rt. 8. Family and friends will be invited to share memories and stories.
