Dolores Roberta Campbell Dowler, age 89, of Mill Village, died Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Brevillier Village, Erie. She was born March 3, 1934 in LeBoeuf Township, the youngest of nine children of Chauncey H. Campbell and Florence L. Alexander Campbell.

Dolores graduated from Edinboro High School with the Class of 1952. She was secretary for 25 years at Mill Village Elementary School with the Fort LeBoeuf School District retiring in 1996. Being a lifelong member of the community and with her years at the school, Dolores impacted many lives and will be greatly missed.

Her memberships included Mill Village United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for 40+ years; now, a member of New Ireland United Methodist Church; the PA Association of School Retirees; Red Hat Society Chapter 7771 of Mill Village; Past President of Mill Village Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary; and Past President of Mill Village Elementary School PTA.

Dolores married Donald F. Dowler on March 28, 1953. They celebrated 66 years until his passing August 22, 2019. She is further preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Lester, and Harold Campbell; five sisters, Charlotte Racop, Vesta McClellan Hackler, Ellen Sammons, Audrey Sanders, and Lois Marzka; and her son-in-law, Kevin Campbell.

Survivors include three children, Debra Campbell, Dean (Fran) Dowler, and David (Tracy) Dowler; seven grandsons, Jason (Patty) Campbell, Brian (Renea) Campbell, John (Charity) Campbell, Christopher (Brenda) Withers, Kurt Dowler, Cody (Lori) Dowler, and Travis (Alexis) Dowler; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her family was her greatest enjoyment. She also loved dancing, bowling, playing cards with her girls’ club of 59+ years, and traveling (she met her goal to visit all 50 states).

Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be there Tuesday at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Terry Brown. Committal service and burial will follow at Mill Village Cemetery.
