Bobby grew up in Waterford and graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School in 2003. Pursuing his love of auto racing, he attended the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, OH and earned an associate degree in high performance motor sports. He was currently employed as an auto technician at Johnson and Flick Auto Service in Erie, and previously had been employed by various NASCAR high performance driving experiences in Charlotte, NC where he lived about two years. Bobby especially enjoyed sprint cars and dirt track racing, deer hunting, AC/DC music, and was a Florida Gators fan.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by two sisters– Wendy Morrison, and Heidi Etzel and her husband Billie, all of Waterford; his half sister– Melissa Krieger-Blumquist and her husband Rob and family of Millcreek; his special friend– Aria Johnston of Waterford; grandparents– John and Violet Krieger of Waterford, and Phyllis Dropsho of Erie; nieces and nephews– Zachary, Taylor, Caden, Maggie Mae, and Kody; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Dropsho.
Visiting hours will be at Van Matre Funeral Home, 105 Walnut Street, Waterford on Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the funeral service following at 8:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. William Cox of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the family. A wake/dinner will be held in Bobby’s memory on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the American Legion Post 285 in Waterford.
