JoAnn Elaine Peiffer Kolin, age 81, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at her home in Cambridge Springs, PA. JoAnn was born on May 17, 1934 in Cambridge Springs, PA, a daughter of the late Harold Peiffer and Autumn Dine Peiffer. She married Edward James Kolin on October 16, 1954 and he survives.
A lifelong resident of Cambridge Springs, JoAnn was a 1953 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School where she enjoyed socializing with her classmates and where she was a member of the High School band and choir. JoAnn had a keen interest in Cambridge Springs events and was a participant at many Cambridge Springs Boro Council meetings, attended Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Cambridge Springs, was a member of the Mother of Twins Club and a member of a local diet club. In addition, she was an active supporter of the Cambridge Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the John Stanley MacDuff American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary of Cambridge Springs.
Surviving JoAnn in addition to her husband, Edward J. Kolin, are three children: twins- Krista Carleton of Erie and Kurtiss Kolin and his wife, Patricia of Colorado Springs, CO; and Keith Kolin and his wife, Lori of Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren – Lindsay Hubler and her husband, Jason; Jessica McCormick and her husband, Adam; Melissa Carleton; and Matthew Kolin; six great grandchildren – Leah, Colin, Chloe, Braden, Julia, and Tori. JoAnn is further survived by a sister – Anita MacDonald of Erie; her favorite niece – Linda McLaughlin and her husband, Tom; her nephew – David Peiffer; an honorary son – Gary Parkin and his wife, Susan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Thursday, August 27th from 6-9 and on Friday from 1-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Venango Cemetery.
