Dolores “Dee” Lindemuth, age 77, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her home. Born in Harborcreek on March 7, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Marcus and Bernice Henderson Prindle.
Dee grew up in Haborcreek and graduated from Harborcreek High School in 1957. She was a member and Sunday School teacher with South Harborcreek United Methodist Church and married Vernon S. Lindemuth there on September 14, 1957. She lived in Erie and Summit Towhship and then Fairfield, OH before moving to Waterford in 2001 after Vern’s retirement.
Dee had a special place in her heart for children and spent most of her life caring for children–first, her own two daughters, then 63 foster children, many of them with special needs. She was talented with making crafts and, for pleasure, she enjoyed casino outings with her sister, Helen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Debora Crandall, and a grandson, Ryan Crandall.
Surviving family members include her husband, Vernon Lindemuth; a daughter, Pamela Waite and her husband Gregory of Waterford; seven grandchildren- Gary, Chad, Scott, Alyssa, and Troy Crandall, and Elizabeth and Isaac Waite; three great-grandchildren- Dylan, Madilyn, and Jasmine Crandall; three sisters- Helen Snyder, Nancy Castano, and Joanne Puzarowski; and a brother, John Brown.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at Asbury United Methodist Church in Waterford on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m.? Rev. Gary Donaldson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
