Lorraine Kathleen (Lamb) Senkalski, age 75, of Waterford, went home to be with her Lord on? Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. Born July 7, 1941 in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Frank C. and Josephine M. Hanlin Lamb.
Lorraine grew up in McKean and graduated from McKean High School in 1959. She married the love of her life, John R. Senkalski, on December 26, 1959 and they moved to Waterford where they made their home and raised two daughters.
A longtime and active member of Draketown Christian Church in Edinboro, Lorraine served there as organist for many years and blessed people with her music and dedication. She was a prayer warrior and enjoyed spending time with the Lord in His Word.
In addition to playing organ, Lorraine also enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, and getting together with friends and family. She loved her family and especially enjoyed watching her grandsons grow up and seeing them start families of their own.
Lorraine had a sister, Linda Lamb, a brother, Charles F. Lamb, and a son-in-law, Gary A. Post, all of whom preceded her in death.
Her surviving family members include her husband, John; her daughters, Lisa Daugherty (Carl) and Jan Post, of Waterford; her sister, Patricia Blount Gajewski (Butch); grandsons, David Daugherty (Erica) and Jason Daugherty (Halsey); a great-grandson, Benjamin Lee Daugherty, and a baby boy Daugherty, due to arrive any day, who Lorraine was looking forward to meeting; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Waterford on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Draketown Christian Church in Edinboro on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastors Ron Kennedy and Daryl Myer. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
I’m so sorry to hear of Lorraines passing, she always had a smile on her face! She will be missed by many! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner to come to the funeral home.
Lorraine was my first friend when we met in grade school. We journeyed through Luther League, school, cheerleading and shared the podium at our high school graduation. We kept in touch through the long distances as my husband’s job took us across the USA. Lorraine was a steadfast friend who kept me honest. We were able to reconnect in the 80s and our friendship became stronger. Her letters were always a source of comfort and peace……they will be treasured as her faith made her a treasure to so many. My sincerest condolences to all her family.
Lorraine was one of the kindest, sweetest people I have known. Our sympathy to the family. We will not be home till midweek from Florida but will be praying for all of you. Dave and Debbie Klapthor
Lorraine was the picture of kindness. I knew her as a young girl and will always remember her with fondness and affection. She left a loving imprint upon my life. Blessings to her sweet family as they endure this sad loss.
